Today is Your Future
TODAY on today.com I’m posting on my favorite subject, renewing and re-purposing absolutely everything! New Years Day has got to be the best holiday there is. Anytime you can effect change is a great day. Sure, changing the world for the better is noble. But you generally need to start a bit more modestly. Ne-deja-vu.today.com is all about change. Out with the old, in with the new, or renew as is my preference. Results are easier to obtain gradually with a series of small changes. What better day to start than on New Years day, when you have all the built-in motivation you need?
The ceremonious removal of the holidays and all its’ trappings makes for a great first step. Clearing out all the fussy stuff; decorations, glitter and down right clutter! You find yourself with a fresh canvas visually and mentally, it’s as if you had been away on vacation and just arrived home again. How homesick you were! You are rejuvenated and ready for the necessary tasks, but even more filled with anticipation of a new adventure. So, pack up all the holiday leftovers, tree trimmings and give your mind a fresh perspective.
The New Year provides the opportunity to start over with a clean, fresh day. There’s no doubt 2008 was 80 miles of bad road. That’s just it, it was, it’s in the past. Take with you only the lessons learned to keep with your new ‘wizdumbs’, and leave the rest behind. Leave it where it belongs…relatively undisturbed, save for the occasional reference and a smile that you are indeed wiser. A new wisdom to go with the New Year ahead.
You know, the future is as tricky as the past. The future will only be as good as what you do today!
So, sort through the remnants of last year’s disappointments, mistakes and failures of 2008 and keep only the bright gems that were the highlights. Everything else goes in the crapper! Don’t fret over tomorrow. Concentrate only what you can do today, change today.
Here’s to your beautiful re-newed year!
